Roses Hits, Roses Hurts / Jakarta Version
(2022)
After my father passed away, my memories of his violence and affection started to reappear, and my understanding of it evolved and collided into one. I became interested in seeing how many forms of violence are made because of someone's attachment to their own sense of affection and care.
The force was very strong to create and understand this sensation, so I translated the sensation into an interaction of hitting roses. I made a simple film, shooting for a 1-min film; this work was the early form that reflected a blur between violence and affection. This work leads to a photo and live performance work later.
